Damaged vehicles: Do you see the value in this?

Boonstra Schadevoertuigen is looking for a colleague to join our team. We are a wholesaler specializing in damaged vehicles, with a varying stock of around 1,000 vehicles. From our location in Drachten, on the Drachten Azeven industrial estate, we buy and sell damaged vehicles for both the domestic and international markets.

Our inventory ranges from passenger cars and commercial vehicles to trucks, trailers, and machinery.

Most of our purchases are made through insurance companies, which offer their damaged vehicles via professional auction platforms. We monitor these auctions daily and bid on vehicles that match our market, customer demand, and inventory strategy.

What will you do?

As a Purchaser, you are responsible for purchasing damaged vehicles through, among other things, insurers' auction platforms. You assess damage information, technical condition, market value, and residual value, and then submit competitive and realistic bids.

Your duties will include:

• Purchasing damaged vehicles via insurance companies' auction platforms.
• Analyzing damage reports, photos, and vehicle data.
• Determining residual values and placing bids.
• Maintain contact with loss adjusters, insurers, and other providers.
• Recording all purchasing data in our systems.
• Identifying market developments and opportunities.

Can you make realistic and competitive bids on damaged vehicles?

• You have experience in the automotive industry.
• You have experience in purchasing (damaged) vehicles, or you are motivated to learn this quickly.
• You are good at analyzing and weighing commercial considerations.
• You are accurate and have strong administrative skills.
• You can switch between auction deadlines, files, and internal processes.
• You are communicative and work independently.
• You feel at home in a role where flexibility and entrepreneurship are more important than "clocking in and out."
• You live in (the region) or are willing to travel to Drachten.
