Product Innovation Technologist

As Lead Product Innovation Technologist , you will drive the technological innovation power of Lamb Weston. Your mission is to translate science into impactful product innovations that strengthen our strategy of sustainable and innovative growth. By deepening our understanding of source materials and product technologies, you'll help us develop new products, optimize processes, and deliver tangible results such as patents, prototypes, and pilot installations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Objectives

• Develop and improve product technologies based on consumer, customer, and market needs.
• Create strategically driven products with new technological elements.
• Deliver proprietary product technology to LW.

2. Innovation & Development

• Lead the development of new product technologies from concept to upscaling.
• Translate technology into prototypes, pilots, and final solutions.
• Build strong external relationships to bring relevant innovations into LW.

3. Product Technology & Concept Development

• Explore and share relevant technological knowledge to reduce costs, boost robustness, and enhance sustainability.
• Responsible with the R&D team for pilot/upscaling trials.
• Safeguard Intellectual Property while maintaining trusted supplier relationships.
• Document technological work clearly and effectively.

4. Collaboration & Business Case Development

• Partner with internal clients and external partners to turn ideas into products.
• Provide technical insights for feasibility and profitability studies.
• Support business models and cases throughout development.

5. Technological Excellence

• Act as a company expert in product technology, driving cost-effective and innovative improvements.
• Research and propose technological advancements that enhance competitiveness.
• Become a recognized expert in at least one core product technology.

6. Leadership & Project Management

• Ensure effective project execution on quality, time, budget, and scope.
• Take ownership of technology projects from ideation to implementation.
• Support Marketing & Innovation and R&D.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Science or related field.
• Strong ability to translate science into practical, innovative solutions.
• Proven project management skills.
• Excellent knowledge of packaged food products; ingredients knowledge is a plus.
• Skilled communicator, able to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
• Experience working with suppliers and external partners.
• Strong analytical skills (MS Excel proficiency).
• Fast learner, creative, pragmatic, and able to see the bigger picture.
• Fluent in English; other European languages are an advantage.
