Vacancy - Software Engineer

Who are we?

At NBIP we work together with our participants and partners to ensure a safe and reliable internet. We are the centre of expertise for DDoS mitigation, lawful interception & lawful disclosure and threat intelligence analysis, and we provide support services to digital infrastructure providers, such as internet, hosting and cloud providers.

We have plenty of ideas and ambitions for innovative projects, and we need you to help us realise and implement them! We are looking for a Software Engineer who enjoys getting their teeth into the availability and continuity of NBIP's applications and data collections.

What will you do?

In the role of software engineer, you will work with colleagues to ensure the availability and continuity of a set of applications and data collections at NBIP. You will be involved in creating, managing and modifying applications in response to identified errors or changing technical or functional requirements. You will be responsible for the technical design and proper functioning of various applications. One of these applications is Clean Networks' vulnerability analysis tool. In your role, you will maintain close contact with the NBIP team and external suppliers.

Your core tasks will be:

• maintaining and managing the operation of applications, including version management
• designing and setting up links between different applications
• communicating with users about functionalities and performance
• setting up, maintaining and managing data collections
• advising on necessary or desired adjustments to applications
• drafting application documentation

Who are you?

You are independent, but also a team player, proactive and eager to learn. You are naturally good at analysing and solving problems. You have good communication skills and are committed. You are also motivated to work with your colleagues to further develop NBIP as an organisation.

What do you bring to the table?

• A completed higher professional education (hbo) degree, preferably in IT or a field related to the required work.
• You have excellent knowledge of and demonstrable experience with Linux operating systems.
• You have knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).
• You have knowledge of container technologies (Docker, Nomad) and Container Orchestration.
• You have knowledge of databases (PostgreSQL, MariaDB), configuration management tooling (Saltstack, Ansible), relevant scripting languages (Bash, Python) and system monitoring.
• You have knowledge of web technologies.
• You have experience with Laravel PHP Framework.
• You have an affinity for and experience with open source.
• You have experience with revision management software (git).
• Optional: You have experience with virtualised environments and Infrastructure as Code for managing these environments.
• You are familiar with Agile working methods.
