Job Description

Our Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) & Simulator team develops virtual test environments and training simulators. The HIL setups use realtime, full physics simulations of for example our vessels or onboard equipment, connected to our inhouse developed control systems to test and validate their behaviour.

We also create simulator environments focused on training the human machine interaction and team aspects of our offshore operations. To support internal development, the HIL team collaborates with our control and automation teams on an extensive toolset to autogenerate code and interfaces, helping us reduce repetitive work and speed up delivery. You'll work in a team of six (mechanical/control/software) engineers.

What are you going to do?

• Develop and maintain tooling for real‑time simulation, REST APIs, user‑facing frontends, and cluster/framework infrastructure used across multiple teams;
• Automate HIL workflows end‑to‑end, including auto‑generation, configuration, deployment, execution, and monitoring of test setups to reduce manual effort and errors. It's up to you to find the best tool for the specific job (Go, python, C++…);
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams on offshore projects, with opportunities to go onboard vessels to support operations and see your software in action.

Education & Experience

• You have a technical education on a MSc/BSc level (computer science, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering or equivalent);
• You have a software background with an interest in engineering, or vice versa;
• Software engineering is your hobby and passion;
• You are interested in system architecture;
• You have experience with version control and C++, Python, Go or equivalent and willing to learn.
