De Warme Winkel is looking for an Office Manager/Assistant Business Manager

De Warme Winkel is widely praised as one of the most exciting theatre companies in the Netherlands. We create productions for both small and large venues, on location and abroad, and regularly make headlines with exciting promotions and projects. For example, during the first lockdown, we created the COVID-safe theatre Peepshow Palace, co-founded 'Theaterbroedplaats De Sloot' with theatre collective BOG.,, where countless theatre makers work and reside, changed our name to Toneelgroep Amsterdam (and back again), and made headlines with our performance Het Zomeroffer in the Amsterdamse Bos, in which a car belonging to a member of the audience was sacrificed each evening. Currently, our productions are Villa Europa , R2D2_OR_NOT_2B2, and Gundhi .

De Warme Winkel is like an accordion: sometimes we operate as a smaller organization with a compact core, other times as a large organization with various projects, co-producers and a broad team of employees.

De Warme Winkel may be a slightly smaller company due to the loss of our structural subsidy from the Performing Arts Fund in January 2025, but we've found our way back up, and with more targeted choices, we continue to make an impact on the (theatre) world. Thanks to structural support from the AFK, thanks to several private funds, contributions from a giving circle, and national and international co-producers, we've forged a new plan for the future. We want to retain our audience and continue our artistic growth to make our return to the Performing Arts Fund in the next arts plan inevitable. Your appointment will help us chart a course toward a stronger future.

The start date for the position is April 1st.

Our team currently consists of two artistic directors and a business director, a junior marketer, a head of marketing, an artistic planner and coordinator, and a technical producer. In addition, a pool of (returning) freelance actors, creatives, production managers, and technicians is involved with the company.

What is expected of you?

In this dual role, you'll be the mainstay of De Warme Winkel's office and the right hand of our business manager. You'll have several regular administrative responsibilities, such as managing our email inbox, checking and recording invoices and expense claims, sending payment reminders, tracking ticket sales figures, and booking travel and accommodations in consultation with our artistic planner. You'll also support the business manager with the sales of De Warme Winkel's performances, drafting theater contracts, entering tickets sales statements, and preparing and sending sales invoices. You'll also assist with grant applications.

You are someone who

  • Works accurately and precisely
  • You have a minimum command of the Dutch language at B1 level
  • Can express oneself fluently in English
  • Preferably with an education, but above all enthusiastic and makes us curious
  • Sees advantages in process-oriented work
  • Has good digital skills (ideally knowledge of and experience with CRM systems)
  • Can handle numbers well
  • Is enthusiastic about our performances and conveys that to programmers
  • Demonstrates an independent working attitude and is also a team player

  • Salary according to the Collective Labor Agreement for Theater & Dance (CAO Toneel en Dans), scale V, depending on experience: minimum €3,075 and maximum €3,253 gross per month based on a full-time employment contract

  • 39 days off (27 vacation days and 12 compensatory days) with full-time employment
