You will be the go-to expert for ethical issues, guiding the editors and the wider research community. You are a highly analytical and accurate colleague ready for this challenge. Further:

• University degree in an academic discipline;
• Relevant work experience in direct publishing/editorial roles;
• Strong knowledge of the peer-review and publishing process. Especially ethical guidelines;
• Fluent in English in both written and speaking;
• Excellent communication and fact-checking skills;
• Experience supporting editors or senior academics;

You will serve as an advisor, investigator and trainer to ensure the highest standards are maintained. This a collaborative and analytical role that requires excellent communication and diplomatic skills. Further:

• Lead investigations into ethical allegations involving authors, reviewers and editors;
• Provide expert guidance to editors, respecting their independent decision-making and advising on appropriate actions;
• Manage complex cases that may involve multiple journals and networks of internal and external stakeholders;
• Provide input to initiatives aimed at preventing and detecting ethical issues;
• Communicate precisely and diplomatically with all stakeholders, including legal and communications experts when necessary.
