"Do I have to come to school for a meeting on my day off?" "I work two days a week. How many hours of parental leave am I entitled to?" "I have a dispute with my employer. What should I do?"

As a trade union consultant you enjoy answering these kinds of questions AOb-members to answer. Do you want to contribute to the AOb And thus for your future colleagues? Then become a union consultant in the Southwest region.

What are you going to do?

You're a good listener to members' problems and can translate them into legal questions. You communicate effectively with people - by phone, email, and in person. You'll first receive comprehensive training, primarily in Utrecht, covering all employment conditions in education, from scope of employment to maternity leave.

As a union consultant, you are also involved in WIA discussions and pension questions from individual members. Sometimes, you will work under the auspices of the union's legal department. AOb, accompany a member to school. And if a regional manager organizes a meeting where individual questions regarding legal status are expected, you may be asked to attend.

What do you need to know?

• As a consultant you work 720 clock hours per year, which is two days a week, and you also receive seven training courses per year.

• As a consultant, you currently have a permanent position with an employer in education (so not a temporary job with the prospect of a permanent position, and not a job through an employment agency).

• You currently work at least 0.8 FTE. Your current employer will then give you two days off per week to work for the AOb to work. Your employment and salary with your current employer will remain the same.

• And of course you are a member of the AOb.
