Ahoy, culinary sea hero!

The Zeilschip Eendracht Foundation is looking for a passionate chef with a love for cooking, strong team spirit, and an affinity for life at sea. We are a non-profit organisation with a clear mission: to give people of all ages the opportunity to experience the magic of sailing at sea. Whether it's a day trip on the River Maas, an active sailing holiday, a youth voyage, or a team-building trip.

With over 300 dedicated volunteers, 13 permanent crew members, and a small, friendly office team of six colleagues, we keep our ship moving-both literally and figuratively. We are now looking for someone like you: a versatile culinary professional who can provide our crew and guests with delicious, well-prepared meals.

What will you be doing?

As the chef on board the Eendracht, you will be responsible for preparing flavourful and nutritious meals for both the crew and our guests. You will create a varied menu, take dietary requirements and allergies into account, and manage the stock and procurement of ingredients. No two days are the same, as you will be cooking on a sailing vessel and continuously adapting to the dynamic nature of life at sea.

• Preparing and serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner for both crew members and guests.
• Designing menus and accommodating special dietary requirements and preferences.
• Managing inventory and sourcing fresh, high-quality ingredients.
• Ensuring hygiene and cleanliness in the galley in full compliance with HACCP guidelines.
• Collaborating closely with the crew to create an optimal and memorable experience for our guests.

Who are we looking for?

You are a passionate chef who thrives on adventure and enjoys life at sea. In addition, you bring the following:

• An MBO diploma as an independently working chef or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience in a professional kitchen, preferably on board ships or within a maritime environment.
• Sound knowledge of HACCP principles and food safety regulations.
• A flexible, resilient mindset and a strong team-oriented attitude.
• An affinity with sea sailing and a willingness to remain on board for extended periods of time.
