Core tasks

In the Embedded System Designer role, you and your team are responsible for developing and implementing innovative embedded solutions, from concept to final product. You'll contribute to both hardware and software designs and ensure our products are technically superior. You'll also be an ambassador for the VEDS Group and actively contribute to achieving the organization's objectives and vision.

The core tasks and responsibilities of an Embedded System Engineer include the following activities:

• Designing electronic circuits and writing efficient embedded code (e.g. in C/C++) for microcontrollers and embedded platforms.
• Integrating hardware and software into a single working system, performing tests, debugging, and optimizing performance, reliability, and energy consumption.
• Translate functional requirements into technical designs, schematics, and firmware architectures, including maintenance and test documentation and specifications.
• Coordinate with colleagues from mechanics, electronics, software, and project management to create integrated products that meet quality and safety standards.

Job requirements

We are looking for someone with knowledge of system design. As an Embedded System Designer, you will develop the systems required for the production of products and/or (sub)systems. These developments will take place within multidisciplinary project teams, in a technical environment, and in close collaboration with our clients. In addition to collaboration, a high degree of independence is also required. Proven techniques will often be used, but just as often, innovative solutions will be sought.

• You have an affinity with embedded software/system design and have training that supports this knowledge.
• Knowledge and skills (multidisciplinary) of system concepts, systems theory and systems dynamics.
• Knowledge and expertise of modern (precision) mechanical, control engineering, mechatronic concepts, software and e-hardware.
• Knowledge of computer support tools in the field of analysis and simulation.
• You have excellent analytical skills and can perfectly map out customer needs and provide advice, whether solicited or unsolicited.
• You can set priorities and keep your administration in order.
• You are not averse to helping your colleagues where necessary.
