Air Freight Forwarder

Embassy Freight Rotterdam is a comprehensive IATA-certified freight forwarder with an informal culture. On our own Embassy Way, we provide various logistic services such as air and sea freight, road transport, and stowage. We also arrange the necessary customs documents and various certifications for our clients. We are part of the Embassy Freight Group. With 7 of our own branches in Northern Europe and an additional 50 affiliated offices worldwide, we can offer suitable solutions for our clients in almost any air & main port.

For our air freight department, we are looking for an enthusiastic and driven forwarder for 40 hours per week.

What are your core tasks as an air freight forwarder?

• As an air freight forwarder, you organize shipments worldwide, both import and export. You manage the entire process from A to Z, ensuring that the transportation of goods is as efficient and swift as possible.
• You maintain contact with customers, suppliers, customs, airlines and carriers, agents and Embassy offices, and other service providers.
• You negotiate rates, prepare quotations, and follow up on them.
• You handle the entire operational and administrative process of air freight shipments, including repackaging goods, preparing (customs) documentation, and correctly invoicing for services.
• Throughout this process, you ensure continuous progress and maintain an up-to-date transport dossier.

We are looking for a colleague who

• Has obtained the MBO diploma in Forwarding
• Has at least 2 years of experience as an air freight forwarder
• Successfully completed courses such as 'Air Freight Employee' and 'IATA Introduction Course' are an advantage
• Has knowledge of customs legislation, knowledge of hazardous materials transportation is a plus
• Has a good command of the Dutch and English languages, German is a plus
• Has extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Has commercial insight, can persuade, and possesses excellent interpersonal skills
• Is customer-oriented and flexible
• Is a team player and values workplace enjoyment
• Is naturally accurate and attentive to details
