Sous chef

Are you a driven cook with leadership skills and passion for the profession? Then we are looking for you as a sous chef!

In the kitchen of Grand Café De Lichttoren , you will work with brand new equipment and a large, ambitious team. You support the head chef, monitor the quality of our dishes and make sure the kitchen runs efficiently and smoothly. No two days are the same: from lunch and dinner to events and group reservations - you are an important link in our dynamic kitchen.

About us

Grand Café De Lichttoren is located in an iconic building in the heart of Eindhoven, a former Philips light bulb factory. With over 300 seats, a meeting room, patisserie, large bar and expansive terrace, we are one of the largest hospitality venues in the city. Guests come to us for coffee, lunch, dinner or business meetings, and guest experience is always our focus.

What you will do

  • Assist in managing the kitchen and coordinate daily operations
  • Independently prepare dishes according to menu and recipes
  • Ensuring quality and presentation of all dishes
  • Managing your workspace and ensuring a clean and organized kitchen
  • Preparing ingredients and mise-en-place
  • Supervise, motivate and coach the kitchen staff
  • Manage inventory and timely delivery of supplies
  • Monitor and comply with food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Thinking about menu adjustments and new dishes
  • Handling special requests and dietary requirements of guests

Who you are

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a professional kitchen, preferably as an independent working cook
  • Passion for cooking and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational ability and able to work independently
  • Creative, motivated and stress resistant
  • Leadership experience and ability to lead a team
  • Flexible working hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Good command of Dutch and/or English
